I heard that if you register a LLC in California every year you have to around $800 tax fee, weather you do a business or not, is it true?
If I go with C-Corp, shall I liable to $800 as well, any ideas??
What is the deference between LLC and C-Corp? I know every state has deferent laws but I would appreciate if someone can answer my questions from California state.

The minimum California franchise tax is the amount a California corp must pay the first quarter of each tax year whether it is active, operates at a loss or does not do business. The current minimum tax is $800.
The $800 tax payment is not due during the corporation's FIRST tax year. The first $800 minimum tax is due on the 15th day of the 4th month of the corporation's SECOND tax year.
Please note that LLCs are liable for the minimum franchise tax in all years (no two year exemption for LLCs).

One thing does not make any sense: If they have reduced the backlog so much, why can't they resume I 140 premium processing?

The fee increase is only for companies which has more 50% of their employees on H1B visa. So counting 85K visa's for 4 years is not correct.

as I was not getting a corp to corp job for more than a year.I desperately need to work.now I am on a project for 3 months and it will end soon also.but this company wants to hire me full time. thats why I want to join them with EAD and when my h1b approves I will get it stamped and reenter..
You can continue to work with the company from the day they apply for your H1(of from the day you get the receipt of h1 application)....you don't have to wait till you get an approved H1.

I'm in Chicago and will like to move to Atlanta area....Do you guys know how is the IT market (Architect, .NET) doing in this area? Looking at dice and computerjobs, i do see the same jobs getting repeated...Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated..
I lived in Atlanta for 4 years. The job market is just OK there. Not quite sure your reason for the move from Chicago, but if you are looking for weather and job prospects then, Dallas, TX could be a better choice. I maybe wrong but based on what I see - there seem to be more opportunities in the metroplex area

Continue with the GC..The wmployer has to pay the salry on the GC only after your I 485 is approved. Wht i think, wht you are getting now has no connection with GC,
if they are decresing your salry, inform the DOL , you will be alright if ur decreased salry is more thn wht is required by the DOL.

Service centers project dates based on their workload. Lot of people are now eligible for AOS benefits due to the recent namecheck Memo. The EB3 ROW dates have also moved ahead in March Bulletin. There was a huge June , July rush of applications last year. All that may slow down the processing dates. IV has recently raised the issue of processing with USCIS and we are expecting some details be made public in the coming days.

I had a problem with my wifes AP- they had not acted on it for 4 months I asked them to expedite it since we wanted to visit my father in law who was hospitalized for a medical condition- they did not respond to that request so I contacted my Senators office and asked if they could assist in this matter. They asked me for some medical documentation and faxed it to USCIS.. I noticed yesterday that her online status had changed to document mailed..we are still to get it but are optimistic that we should receive it soon.
In the absence of any compelling circumstances though I am not sure how it would work. but I would definitely recommend contacting your Senators office.

I m in the process of renewing AP for my family and have this question. When you renew for the family do you send all the application in one FedEx Envelope or one envelope for each application ?
Also, in case of E-Filing do you add all the applications under one login ?
