Don't know why my file is still pending (RD 6/18), present EAD expiring in 2 weeks..:)
My EAD renewal is pending as well - RD 6/18 - present EAD expiring on 9/25. I requested expediting processing on 8/13 and received a letter yesterday saying they are reviewing my request and will have a decision in 60 days : :rolleyes:

I have donated 50$ by check today and will try to make it there.
Question for the organizers: If we just concentrate on the visa recapture bill, is that not a one shot solution for all issues. Because as per a very respected lawyer, that will make all EB categories current and will stay there for at least 2 more years.

On the one side you have the EB2. Earning more, and better educated. Clearly more important human beings to IRS and society. On the other we have EB3 Junta trying to get what they think is their right to spillover.
Now I understand all your points and agree with all of them.
Only 1 question :D why is IV not fighting to increase the regular (non spillover) quota for the clearly better category EB2. This is clearly not fair such super humans having to share same numbers as lower categories. Lower categories should go to Bombay where there is one apartment which is still empty.
Or better still get rid of the EB3 category altogether. Problem is solved! :D

very sad to hear your condition. We do have good medical treatment available everywhere. Get the best treatment. I have seen so many people recoved from cancer. Hope you will be the one among them. Don't give up hope and spirit. Hope both you and your family will get GC very soon.
Consult a good attorney what to do immediately.

Question remains.. Why ? Why people dont do what is expected when they know that these initiatives are going to help them?
There was a thread poll for another rally, but how many members came forward? How many IV members made an effort to convince others to vote on that poll so that IV core can plan for a rally?

This is my first post.
My Employer's Inhouse Attorney ( one of big 4 ) says technically EB dependents ( all 1,2,3) must be classified under FAMILY quota. USCIS mis classifies them under EMPLOYMENT quota.
Is he technically correct ?
Since, Most of dependents will not be affected when they are classified under Family quota (as they have AP and EAD).
Can IV possibly consider for push for reclassification of Dependents under Family Quota ? This will reduce backlog.
Please don't take it out of context, I am not trying to hurt any EB dependents, I too have a spouse working part time using beneficiary EAD. This is more of an open question.

if it takes 2 or 3 years to fight this case, what is the use

Thanks for your advice. The intent of the letter is to show a different perspective to Senator Sessions. Nothing more or nothig less. He said he did not receive any feedback from legal immigrants. Fine, we say here it comes. If he continues to block legal immigration reform bills, he has to find another pretext, not "no feedback from immigrants".
There is always a rational side in every human being. Senator Sessions is smart. Let us hope Senator Sessions surprises us by bringing his own version of EB immigration reform.

Senators/Congressmen are rational, smart and intelligent people. We HAVE to apprise them of our situation.
We have a legitimate, common sense and good cause on our side.
In this time of globalization and increased competition, do the senators/congressmen really want this country to lose half a million highly skilled, experienced and trained-in-America-for-years people to India and China, and to Europe and canada?
If they put 'holds' or refuse to take up our cause after they are fully aware of our situation, then atleast you know that they are doing it out of racism and/or narrow political and parochial motives.
But unless we make our situation known to these guys, we shouldn't really blame them.......Also, those with kids born in America might get more of a response from the legislators.

Yes, All of my checks got cashed today and i got all the reciepts in mail. ND is 06/01 and RD is 06/06 from Nebraska.

Just live here in the USA, as if nothing happened? What happens to the family if they go out of status all of a sudden?
There is no need to make the GC your only goal in life, but please don't be insensitive... there is much more to the issue than meets the eye!

There are some jobs that require US citizens only without any security clearance requirements. Many defense related projects are like that. Not everyone will need security clearance, but everyone in the project must be US citizen.

desi - You seem to have indepth knowledge in this. All your posts put together gives the complete picture.
In reality, a common man does not do much analysis and just goes by the flow. HR listens to what manager or management says and thats it. No one complains or asks and as such people - if they find an opportuinity which is welcoming will not chase an opportunity which is not welcoming unless a group of people like members of IV - want to collectively address these issues.
When I looked for jobs I have seen employers or reqruiters asking what is my status and if I say I have EAD some of them will say "OK, no problem" but will not get back because they have instruction from hiring managers to hire only GC or USC. The hiring manager may not be well informed enough or may not want to deal with things with USCIS (perception, because all USCIS wants is a verification letter which is common and other agencies like Banks, DMVs etc.. may also request the same)
I have noticed that a lot of people are not comfortable about dealing with USCIS - it could be a stigma.
